Haul and Review: Bath and Body Works, Skin Food, Victoria's Secret, Revlon

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoy this post

Revlon Colorburts Lipstick in Soft Nude

I haven’t found my Holy Grail nude lipstick, so I try this one. The quilted packaging reminds me of the uber popular Chanel 2.55 purse. The top lid shows you exactly the lipstick color inside, I love it. This color looks very pretty in the tube, a neutral peachy nude, but on me, I don’t know… sometimes it looks okay, sometimes it just makes my face kinda ‘green’ and somewhat ‘unhealthy’. Maybe this is not a right nude color for me. Most of the time I pair it with NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in ‘Natural’. I think the combination looks great on my skin tone. I’m continuing my search to find the perfect nude lipstick. If you have any recommendation please tell me on the comment below

Victoria’s Secret ‘Love Spell’ Fragrance Mist

Notes: Chamomile, aloe, cherry blossom, peach

The all time best selling smell from Victoria’s Secret! I purchased this product without smelling it, Adriana Lima did a great job selling this to me through one commercial video. Let me tell you, I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either. It smells fruity to me. I can smell the peach and somewhat I sense an orange too. Juicy, flirty, playful, very ‘teenage’ like because I can’t imagine older women wear it. The first spray is a little bit strong and harsh but the alcohol settles down quickly. Somewhat this product reminds me of car freshener, if you are planning to purchase this particular scent, don’t forget to smell it first.

Sillage: weak to medium, I find Victoria’s Secret Pure Seduction Refreshing Body Mist (the old packaging) is much stronger. I spray the Pure Seduction and my entire bed room smells like it.
Longevity: poor. After all you can’t expect a long lasting scent from a body spray.

Skin Food Gold Apple Hand Balm

This stuff smells amazing, a light, true scent of green apple, the texture is creamy, not to thick not too thin. It does the job moisturized my dry hand, after a few second it absorbs into my skin and leaves a soft smooth feeling! Awesome! I recommend this to everyone!

Bath and Body Works ‘Warm Vanilla Sugar’

Middle Notes: coconut, vanilla, rice
Base Notes:  sandalwood, musk, vanilla, heliotrope

This one is probably my favorite Bath and Body Works scent so far. It smells exactly like vanilla and sugar, a light sweet vanilla with a sugar sprinkled on top. Very yummy, not offensive, not too powdery, and not too sweet. It just right. Usually wearing heavy vanilla scent on hot day can be unbearable (especially with The Body Shop Vanilla EDT and Burberry ‘Brit’ EDT) but I don’t have any problem with Warm Vanilla Sugar on a hot day. Try it! I think most people would love it!

Sillage: Poor
Longevity: Poor. Again…well this is body spray. I f you want long lasting fragrance, go buy Eau de Parfum or Parfum instead. Even most Eau de Toilettes don’t last long nowadays. For this particular scent I find it last longer when you spray it on clothes. Maybe I should buy the matching lotion to make this scent stays on longer.

Bath and Body Works ‘Country Chic’

Top Notes: grapefruit, pear, green notes, tagetes, amalfi lemon
Middle Notes: jasmine, African orange flower, gardenia, lily, raspberry
Base Notes: musk, patchouli, Virginia chedar, amber, peach, orchid, praline

Another blind purchase, this one smells exactly like Oriflame ‘Miss O Fashion Princess’ ( the blue bottle on the left with blue atomizer) fruity floral, not too strong, not too sweet, not too sour, not overly flowery, the difference is, Country Chic is lighter. Both Country Chic and Miss O Pashion Princess smell good, I can see this two fragrances loved by so many people, I do want to like this, but I don’t know! There is something about this two that give me a slight headache, I don’t know what, I just recommend you to smell it first before you buy it.

Sillage: Poor
Longevity: Poor

Bath and Body Works ‘Paris Amour’

Top Notes: Mandarin orange, strawberry, cassis, apple blossom, freesia
Middle Notes: Jasmine, lotus, peach, frangipani, pink tulip
Base Notes: Musk, sandalwood, amber, vanilla, coconut

I didn’t buy this one. My friend Novi did (blind purchase too) but she let me to review this product for you. Novi and me will swap a small amount of our Bath and Body Works. She can get my ‘Warm Vanilla Sugar’  and ‘Country Chic’, I get her  ‘Paris Amour’. Fair enough! swapping is a great way to try new product when you aren’t sure whether you will like it or no. We have the chance to try it to think about it before we decide to buy it.  For me Paris Amour smells wonderful! Light but sweet. The first thing I notice when I spray is strawberry, then it develops to a sweet yummy smell, like frosting! Yes frosting! Totally will purchase my own someday, plus look at the bottle! It just looks very cute on my table

Sillage: poor. The funny thing is, I use like one spray on my shirt, after a while, I decided to play with both of my dogs. They licked my shirt like crazy! Maybe they want strawberry and frosting? So cute
Longevity: poor

So do you have any question about these products? Don’t hesitate to ask me on the comment section below. Have a nice day all!

Review: L'occitane Lavender Shower Gel and Body Lotion

I got these goodies from L’occitane Indonesia! I won their Twitter contest so they gave me L’occitane Lavender Shower Gel and Body Lotion. Sweet!
Follow their Twitter @LOCCITANE_ID for more awesome giveaway!

L’occitane Lavender Shower Gel

I took the goodies from L’occitane boutique at Pasific Place Jakarta, it was comfortable and beautiful inside the store, this condition made me really enjoy looking around the store. I feel like a child in candy store! So many lovely products! Plus, let me tell you, two girls that work there were very sweet and helpful. They let me tried their products and they had amazing knowledge about every products. After a long commute from home to L’occitane Pasific Place , the experience was worth it.

So, in the afternoon I tried the shower gel. This gel smells divine, and relaxing. The thing is, this shower gel doesn't foam up well, it doesn’t have a lot of bubbles. But I need to remind you this shower gel is an organic and natural product. Maybe they don’t put so many detergents that create bubbles in the ingredients, that is a good thing right? After shower this product leaves my skin silky and moisturized. Such a luxury!

L’occitane Lavender Body Lotion

Again this natural and organic lavender lotion smells extremely relaxing! The texture is light and absorbed quickly, very nice for a people who don’t like sticky and oily lotion. I think it is a great everyday or every night lotion, especially in the hot summer months because it does have a cooling sensation when you applied it to your skin.  I will definitely repurchase, because this product makes me feel much pampered!

Note to L’occitane: Please bring back Wild Cherry Tree EDT! that one is my favorite…please…please…make it permanent in your stores!

I believe this was the first time Victoria’s Secret ever came up with the diamond bra concept. Worn by German supermodel Claudia Schiffer on the photoshoot (unfortunately it wasn’t presented on the runway), this bra cost $ 1,000,000.

Diamond Dream Bra (1997)

Tyra Banks wore this $ 3,000,000 white diamond bra. This bra did not appear on the runway either.

Dream Angel Fantasy Bra (1998)

At the fantastic $ 5,000,000 price tag, the lucky lady who wore this bra was Czech supermodel, Daniela Pestova.

The $ 10,000,000 diamond encrusted bra worn by Heidi Klum, don’t you love to have star shape diamonds on your bra?

Red Hot Fantasy Bra/Panties (2000)

This $ 15,000,000 creation breaks the Guiness Book of Record as one of the most expensive lingerie pieces that ever created. $ 15,000,000! Brazilian bombshell, Gisele Bundchen wore this on the photoshoot. This bra never made it to the runway either.

Heavenly Star Bra (2001)

Heidi Klum wore the diamond bra for the second time. This one was the first million dollar bra (well this particular one cost about $ 12,500,000!) that ever presented on the VS Fashion Show. Isn’t it gorgeous? beautiful bra on the beautiful Heidi.

For the third time Heidi Klum wear the million dollar bra, lucky girl! at the $ 11,000,000 price, this bra is very sexy, with the cut-out on top and bottom part, Heidi needed to layer it with red bra and thong to toned the sexiness down on the runway.

Heavenly “70” Fantasy Bra (2004)

I don’t know about the reason, but this bra wasn’t showed up on the runway. Nonetheless, this is a very beautiful creation, cost about $ 10,000,000 Tyra Banks wore it for the photoshoot. This bra reminds me of the headpiece that Arwen (Liv Tyler) wore at The Lord of the Ring: The Return of the King.

Sexy Splendor Fantasy Bra (2005)

This $ 12,500,000 worn by Gisele Bundchen. On  the runway they layered it with red bra, at the photoshoot, they just photoshop Gisele’s nipple ;D

Holiday Fantasy Bra (2007)

Selita Ebanks looked like a very expensive Christmas tree :D but looking good with $ 4,500,000 bra wasn’t an easy task, Selita said “It hurt. Yeah, diamonds hurt , I don’t know about wearing diamonds on your crotch. It’s like you’re walking and scraping. This is not cohesive to get a man. No man wants a scratchy vagina.

Bombshell Fantasy Bra (2010)

Well, this $ 2,000,000 bra…again is one of my favorites. Adriana Lima wore it during VS Fashion Show last year, combined with festive feather wings. Adriana looked stunning in it.

The Best and The Worst Dresses at The 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards

Hi everyone, this is my opinion about the best and the worst dresses at The Emmys 2011, lets take a look

The Best

Kate Winslet in Elia Saab
She totally looks beautiful, the color looks great on her and the dress fits her perfectly. It is showing the curves in a classy way plus the Cartier earrings add a little extra, a true Hollywood movie star look.

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan
In my opinion this is Nina’s best look in her red carpet history. Of course it is definitely going to help to have her slim and tone physique, her small waist really makes me jealous! but this Donna Karan dress helps to accentuate her curves more, very sexy and elegant.

Sofia Vegara in Vera Wang
Va va voom!!! Sofia looks hot! The color is gorgeous, the gold earrings with encrusted diamonds and emeralds are to die for!  Simply stunning.

Christina Hendricks in Johanna Johansson
Another bombshell at the night. For me usually Christina Hendricks red carpet looks are either hit or miss. Never in between, but this time she looks absolutely beautiful. I adore the sparkly details on her dress.

Jennifer Carpenter
Stunning! The sequins are glamorous , the color is very pretty, delicate and ethereal looking.

Kelly Osbourne in J. Mendel
It just me or this dress reminds me of Keira Knightley’s Vera Wang gown at Oscar a few years ago? No matter what, Kelly looks beautiful, the dress show her (new) great figure! The color is vampy! But the chiffon at the bodice gives a romantic feel.

Naya Rivera
This black dress is the definition of classy and edgy, I love the simple cutting at the bottom part and the unusual details at the top.

Evan Rachel Woods in Elie Saab
Two words. Femme Fatale.

Katie Holmes in Calvin Klein
I love that she brings another color to the crowd, a very lovely blue indeed, very simple and clean cut, she just looks effortlessly beautiful.

Lea Michelle in Marchesa
I love the shoulder area, it gives the dress that extra ‘oommpphh’ and you all should google the back area, it is drapped, beyond gorgeous.

Sarah Hyland in Christian Siriano
Playful pleats detail, asymmetrical one shoulder, very age appropriate, she looks incredible in it.

Julia Stiles in Georges Hobeika
The pale blue color is just very romantic, the lace on the bottom and the bodice just look perfect.

Worst Dresses

Heidi Klum in Christian Siriano
Reminds me of seaweed in the sea.

Minka Kelly in Christian Dior
Maybe she expresses her feeling because Galliano is fired by Dior? Sad and gloomy.

Jenna Ushkowitz
It just looks harsh on her, very boxy, not flattering.

Julianna Margulies in Armani Prive
It just looks weird for me.

Kristen Wiig in Zac Posen
I love the ombre idea, by I think this is not the right color combination.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Emilio Pucci
This is just plain ugly. Sorry...

Jayma Mays in Zuhair Murad
What is wrong with Jayma Mays, is she trying to be a Barbie/ballerina/statue on the wedding cake?

Undecided

Rashida Jones in Alberta Ferretti
I do love the dress, I just think it need ironing! And she needs like a statement necklace or something to complete the look.

Padma Lakshmi in Armani Prive
Somehow I like this dress, but there is something about it that I don’t really like…but I can’t point out what?! Maybe it just looks very shiny for my liking.

Diana Agron in Riksanda Ilincic
It needs steaming or ironing ASAP!

Heather Morris
I just love Heather because she takes risk with this dress, but I'm not in love with this dress. Just ok looking.

Claire Danes in Oscar De La Renta
I still can’t decide wheter I love it or I hate it.

Paz De La Huerta
Please wipe of that lipstick and brush that hair, the makeup and hairdo just ruin the dress.
