Hi Ladies,

Today I will review my newest favorite lipstick, it is the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine #8 Pink in Confidence. Here are some pictures,

Originally I wanted to buy the regular YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick, but when I swatched them on the store, they seems really...pigmented. Not a bad thing of course, but because this is my very first time buying the expensive YSL lipstick, I must be able to wear it everyday :)

The color I have is #8 Pink in Confidence, a medium pale pink lipstick with warm brownish undertone and slight shimmer in it. Boring but very pretty. It doesn't wash out my NC25 skin. I love it. With one swipe, It gives me a sheer finish, layer it several times and I get more opaque color.

The texture is wonderful, creamy and glides on easily. Just like the name, it shiny, and stay shiny. Moisturizing and very comfortable on my lips. Longevity is average, but it is not a problem for me, I like to touch up my lipstick. When I was a little, I saw my mother and my aunt re-apply their lipstick throughout the day, so I always think about it as a very womanly thing to do :D

And I don't mind doing the touch up with this lipstick in front of my friends! just look at the packaging! very glamorous gold tube with YSL logo on it, very pretty, it reminds me with lipstick packaging that 50's women had in their purse.

Overall I'm in love with this lipstick, this is officially my new addiction. Hopefully soon I have the money to buy more of this lipstick, and of course I will try the regular YSL Rouge Volupte formula. I can't wait for it.

Singapore Beauty Haul: Chanel, Dior, YSL, CK, Lush, Victoria’s Secret, Klorane, Neutrogena

Hi Vixen,

I just got back from Singapore and these are the product that I bought. Please know that I’ve been saving up my money for quite a long time to purchase all these things. I’m not usually spent this much money on makeup. This is a very nice special occasion.

I thought you might interested to see, so let’s get started.

Chanel Mat Lumiere Luminous Matte Powder Makeup SPF 10

I must admit, the reason I want Chanel powder is because the packaging, shiny black compact with the iconic Chanel logo on it, so pretty. It just nice to have a beautiful compact, you don’t get embarrassed touching up in front of your friends.
As far as the product itself, I can’t say anything yet because I haven’t tried it. I read a reviews in Makeupalley, this one has a great score. Hopefully it works great on me. Just let me know if you want a separate review about this product.

Price: S $ 64* in Changi Airport

Dior Cherie Bow Blush in ‘Pink Happiness’

Originally I wanted the Dior Rosy Glow blush, the Rosy Glow has a prettier sleek silver packaging. They have unique formula, adjusts to your skin’s natural chemistry to create a customized look and universal shade. But it was unavailable in DFS Galleria, so I chose this one instead. The Dior Cherie Bow Blush in ‘Pink Happiness’ has a dark blue packaging, quite lovely indeed. The blush looks bright on the pan but not really pigmented when I use it on my cheek. I have to layer several times to make the color show up on my skin. The texture also quite hard to pick up, I never experienced thing like that before like this before.

Honestly, I slightly regret buying this one, it’s kind of expensive, and guess what? When I was in Changi Airport on the way back home, they have the Dior Rosy Glow one! I tried it and it was so pretty! Much better product than this. One more thing that make me more bummed, the price was way cheaper in Changi than in DFS Galleria.

Price: S $ 68* in DFS Galleria (cheaper in Changi Airport)

Calvin Klein ‘Euphoria’ Eau de Parfum

I have reviewed this nice fragrance on my blog, check this link:

Price: S $ 94* for 50 ml in DFS Galleria

Lush Breath of a Fresh Air Toner

I got this by mistake, I want the Eau Roma toner but I didn’t really pay attention when I took this, so I got Breath of a Fresh Air. In the Lush Singapore website it is said:

“Give your skin a new lease on life with a blend of ingredients inspired by the sea. Breath of Fresh Air is suitable for all skin types, but is particularly beneficial for faces that have been ravaged by the elements. A gentle spray refreshes you when you need it most and brings all the nutrients of the sea directly to your skin. Fresh seawater gently cleanses, while carrageen (seaweed) extract softens and provides essential vitamins and minerals. And all the while, rose absolute and aloe vera are soothing dry areas.”

Sounds quite promising, I love Lush Tea Tree Water toner, maybe I have a good luck with this one to, let’s see.

Price: S $ 15 in Lush Store Wisma Atria Orchard

Lush Each Peach Massage Bar

I love Lush Massage Bar, it just a cute concept. Lovely solid bars of moisturizing butters and gorgeous essential oils melt directly on warm skin instead of messing about with bottles. Plus, they're preservative-free pleasure for both your conscience and body. Usually I use it as a regular moisturizer for my body. This particular type has an uplifting citrus smell and cute flower sculpture on the bar. In the Lush website it is said:

“The one to brighten, lighten and throw off the gloom with a concentrated citrus fix. We make the Each Peach bar with fruity avocado and mango butters, mixed with our cocoa butter and shea butter base for an extra nutritious, softening treat. Essential oils of Persian lime, grapefruit, wild orange and mandarin help to encourage a sunny disposition. Use it to help boost your partner’s confidence. Very reviving: best for mornings.”

Price: S $ 19 in Lush Store, Wisma Atria Orchard

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine in ‘Pink in Confidence’ no. 8

I bought it because of the luxury packaging. Good thing that the product doesn’t disappoint. In fact this is the best lipstick I have ever tried so far in my life. Buttery smooth, good color pay-off, a nice faint mango scent, totally worth the price.

Price: S $ 45* in YSL store, Ior Orchard (also cheaper in Changi Airport)

Victoria’s Secret Makeup Pouch

I need a good makeup pouch. It should be gorgeous and big enough. In VS store, they have so many different models, colors, and patterns; it was quite hard for me to choose. After some consideration I got this one, nude fabric, black lace, and plastic to protect everything from dirt. Just gorgeous, I love it.

Price: S $ 38* in Victoria’s Secret Store, Marina Bay Sands (slightly cheaper in Changi Airport).

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk

My Holy Grail product! Can’t live without it, check my review here:

Price: I lost the receipt, I forget how much it was, but it is quite affordable. I got it in Guardian Ion Orchard.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Pure Mild Sunblock Lotion SPF 50+

I bought this for my sister, we love the Neutrogena Ulta Sheer sunblock line. They are light and not too oily. Some of them have very high SPF, but this type was the only one available in Guardian Ion Orchard, so I bought it. I hope it could be useful for my sister.

Price: I also forget how much this was, but I believe it is quite affordable. I got it in Guardian Ion Orchard.

Freebie: Diorsnow D-NA Control White Reveal Day Essence

I got this sample when I bought the Dior Cherie Bow Blush. I tried this once, the texture is lovely, a gel-like essence, feels comfortable on my skin, however I can’t really tell you if it works to whiten your skin. I should give it more try.

Freebie: Orogold 24K Moisturizing Day Cream

I also got it for free, the Orogold lady let me tried the Orogold scrub/peeling gel (I don’t remember the exact name) but it was amazing! You massage the scrub/peeling gel gently on your skin, it will turn into nasty gunk of dead skin cells! Wow! You wipe it away with tissue and the texture of the freshly scrubbed skin is much better than the un-scrubbed skin. Much, much, much better! I want the peeling gel sample but they didn’t have it, so they gave me the moisturizer instead.

Now I kind of regret not buying the peeling/scrub gel, I want it now! That stuff works! Do you know where I could get Orogold product in Indonesia? Please let me know.

Edit: I decided to Google Orogold and I found a lot of complaints! it seems like they are not ethical company. Google 'Orogold Scam'...just beware people.

So these are my entire haul, some of the products I will review later. Is there any product here that you ever tried? What do you think about it? Is there any product here that you want to try?

Just let me know in the comment section below.

Review: L’occitane Immortelle Brightening Shield SPF40/PA+++

Hi Vixen,

Today I will do a review on the newest addition to my daily skincare routine. It is L’occitane Immortelle Brightening - Shield SPF40/PA+++. Originally I couldn’t decide whether I wanted this or the Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++. Finally after tried a sample of the K’iehls one, I went to L’occitane and bought this. The K’iehls wasn’t a bad sunscreen, it just made my face produce a little more oil than usual.

From the box:

“Immortelle is a flower with exceptional longevity: it never fades, even when picked. Its organic essential oil is rich in active molecules with unique anti-aging result.

Bellis perennis, the daisy flower, offers a brightening extract that contributes to regular melanin production.

The Brightening Shield SPF 40 offers triple action benefits to correct wrinkles, unify the complexion and protect skin against UV rays:

Smoother skin:
Immortelle helps to stimulate collagen production to fill wrinkles and firm the skin.

More-even tone:
Its formula unifies and brightens the complexion, thanks to the Bellis perennis extract.

Protected skin:
Enriched in UV filter of mineral origin, it protects skin against sun rays. A combination of 3 ingredients of vegetal origin (sunflower, ivy, and rice loaf extracts) contributes to fight against harmful effects of pollution. Skin attains a youthful glow.

Apply each morning to face and neck, after the daily moisturizer. Shake before use.”

     Pros:

  •  Light and easy to absorb
  • Non-oily, gives a matte finish, doesn’t leave a sticky feeling even in hot sweaty condition
  • It is slightly gives me a natural ‘fairer look’. But on darker skin women it could creates a white cast.
  • The bottle is perfect for travel; I can twist the cap to prevent leaking.
  • The pump gives a perfect amount of product. Usually I use one pump on my face, one pump on my neck.
  • Someone wrote a review online that there are tons of SPF products in the market that’s labeled as mineral based. However the effective SPF ingredients are only about 6% in most of them. In fact we will need about 2 ml on a 1cm² skin area to get the exact protection on the package that claims to provide. This L'occitane has 11.52% titanium dioxide in it; we don’t need to put on tons of product on our face and still getting the right protection we desire. Nice to know
     Cons:

  • It has an ‘herbal flowery’ scent, not lingers but some might not like it.
  • Expensive! It cost me Rp 630.000,-

Overall this is a great sunscreen, but I don’t think I will repurchase due to the expensive price. My search on my HG sunscreen is still going.
